News - Co-Operation

Posted on April 5, 2012

About two weeks ago I received a phone call from a student from Hoge School Zuyd. She told me about a school project she was part of, Honours Programme Zuyd, with some other students initiated by their school where they would leave for two weeks to China.

Part of their journey is about the Society Project. This project is to help the orphanage Bethel in every possible way. This orphanage is aimed at children who are deaf and (partially) blind. They raise these kids, provide them with education and prepare them for a possible life of independancy in the "real world". With this project they are unique in China.

This student, Nenah, saw the article about my project in the news paper and she was very interested in helping. She offered to take disposable cameras to China, have her and other students take photos regarding the crisis and spread the cameras between the locals. She also offered to take the cameras back home once finished.

Since I don't have anyone in China so far this is incredibly awesome! To compensate I offered to sponsor their project with a part of the money which would've been used for shipping the cameras. That way we all gain something!

I would like to wish them all good luck but also fun on this incredible journey!

If you're interested in supporting this project as well check out their website for more information.
